PCAs are an important part of providing people with choices about the care they receive to live life the way they want.

The responsibilities of a PCA include:

  • Helping with daily personal care needs, such as bathing/showering, dressing, eating, moving around/mobility, and transfers (such as from a bed to a chair).
  • Planning and preparing meals.
  • Bringing individuals to appointments and other outings.
  • Act as a companion.
  • Any help needed to allow someone to live independently at home.
