Connecticut offers many services to help eligible individuals who need support to live at home or return to a community setting. These programs are available through Medicaid waivers or State Plan programs.
Medicaid Waivers: Connecticut has federal approval to “waive” certain Medicaid requirements to better meet your needs, so that you have more choice in how and where you receive services.
Services include: home health services, home care, personal care, adult day services, rehabilitation, respite care, day treatment, mental health rehabilitation services, recovery services, clinical services for individuals with ongoing mental illness, and more.
Eligibility: Each waiver has different requirements. An application and assessment will determine your eligibility.
Waiting Lists: Unlike regular Medicaid, these waiver programs are optional. Once the program reaches its limit for enrollment, future applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
